The United Goans Democratic Party has decided to field Ex Cortalim MLA Mathany Saldanha for the South Goa Lok Sabha constituency.
The decision was taken at the UGDP presidium meeting held on Tuesday evening in the city here.
Saldanha was amongst the three candidates shortlisted by the party to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Party Secretary General Anacleto Viegas said that the party would appeal to other regional parties, besides NGOs to support the party candidate in South Goa. “The Congress has destroyed the state and the country. The time has come together for all the people to defeat the Congress”. [Source]
