Sound ban relaxation for 15 festive days

Sound banRelaxation under Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2000, will be permitted for 15 festive days allowing use of loudspeakers up to midnight.

These include Carnival (14 February), Holi (27th February), Easter Eve (3rd April), Ganesh Chaturthi (12th September – 2nd day of idol immersion, 15th September – 5th day of idol immersion and 21st September – 11th day of immersion), Navaratri (9th day of 16th October), Kojagiri Poornima (22nd October), Diwali eve (4th November), Tripurari/Kartiki Poornima (21st November), Eve of 50th Goa Liberation (18th December), 50th Goa Liberation Day (19th December), Christmas (24th and 25th December) and New Year eve (31st December).

As per the notification issued here, the permission would be granted only on a case-to-case basis, in response to a specific application made by the concerned Village Panchayat, Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council or an individual.

The relaxation is for two hours from 10 pm to 12 midnight.
