No Swine Flu scare in Goa

Even as there is a scare about swine flu in the entire nation of India, there is good news for the population of Goa. All the 19 people, who had tested positive for the disease in the state, have been treated and cured of it, said the health officer in-charge of swine flu cases in the state, Dr Jose de Sa.
Dr de Sa informed that three persons tested positive last week and were asked to remain under home quarantine and treated with Tamiflu for five days, as per the guidelines for dealing with the cases of swine flu. He said that all of them have completely recovered from the disease.

The health official further disclosed that of the three recent confirmed cases of swine flu, one of the victims was a driver who traveled to Pune and had most likely contracted the disease there. The other individual is in the catering business, and traveled to Mumbai frequently on business trip; while the third person was part of a prayer group that had traveled to Coimbatore.
Stating that all the cases were successfully treated, the health official further said that there was no need for panic as the disease was fully curable. He also said that people with flu like symptoms should immediately seek medical advice, so that they do not aggravate their cases and pass on the disease to others.
Meanwhile, the report of the throat swab of the man from Bangalore, who died in a private hospital on Saturday, has revealed that he was not suffering from swine flu.
Disclosing this, Dr Jose de Sa told  that the laboratory at Mangalore has sent the report on Monday morning, indicating that the person neither had swine flu nor influenza.
