Health minister Vishwajit Rane said that the government would try and implement universal mediclaim by September 30.The medical scheme titled Swarnajayanti mediclaim scheme, will cover all the 3.5 lakh households in Goa with five members or less in them.
‘The MoU (memorandum of understanding) has been vetted and cleared by the law department. We are working hard to ensure that we can launch it on Sept 30,’ Rane told reporters here.
The scheme, the first of its kind in the country will cover people who are residents of Goa and will cover expenses up to Rs.60,000 for preliminary as well as secondary healthcare.
