PANAJI: The state government has appointed German firm Louis Berger as consultants for the proposed sea link from Dona Paula to Vasco, chief minister Digambar Kamat said on Thursday.
Kamat said the consultant has a mandate to submit its feasibility study within 18 months, but sources in the government said they are hopeful of the report being ready within a year.
The consultant will study the economic, financial, social feasibility of the project and also indicate the type of bridge most suitable at the site.
Sources also said that about seven firms had applied for the consultancy project but Louis Berger was selected at a cost of around Rs 7 crore.
