Cops stop foreigners’ parade at Arambol

Pernem police on Tuesday stopped the carnival parade, organised by foreign tourists, on Arambol beach, as the organisers failed to obtain permission from the authorities.

At about 4 pm, nearly 700 foreign tourists, attired in colourful carnival costumes, gathered near the Simeshwar Temple at Kalchawado-Arambol.

The entire parade was organised by one foreign tourist, even playing part of King Momo.

After the revellers started dancing, Pernem police rushed to the site and stopped the parade, much to the disappointment of nearly 700 foreign tourists. Pernem police PSI Ajit Umarye is investigating the case.
