Goa’s Marine Police and the Coast Guard were put on alert tonight following information from Maharashtra that a vessel was spotted in the Arabian Sea southwards apparently towards the Goa coast. The information came to the Goa Police in the night after which the Marine Police swung into action. As soon as the information was received, the Coast Guard began to keep a close vigil along the sea coast, sources said adding that the authorities are leaving no stone unturned. “We cannot ignore any such information” , a source told this paper. The information came from Sindhudhurg that some fishermen from Jaitapur harbour had noticed a small ship moving southwards apparently towards Goa coastside.
