
In the recent assembly session a private member’s Bill was moved by Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco seeking to protect Dhirio – Bullfights as a traditional sport but within a framework of guidelines.
The Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (Goa Amendment) Bill, 2009, moved by the ruling party legislator, on the concluding day of the winter session, gives a hope to the besieged owners of fighter bulls who have been facing police action for quite sometime now. The MLAÂ maintained that bullfights have been traditional sports for many centuries, and widely prevalent and popular in the State

I have watched these Dhirio’s and I don’t think that it should be banned totally. It should be allowed with certain guidelines.
