There was never a doubt that Sanjay Dutt will make a comeback as his most alluring character Munnabhai. But there was always a question as to when it is going to happen. It’s been really long since we heard about Munnabhai Chale Amerika. Finally, the producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Raju Hirani have made up their mind to start another Munnabhai film.
Yes, 2012 is the going to be the year when your favourite Munnabhai along with his Circuit will feature in Indian cinema’s most popular franchise. It’s heard that this time around, the film will be titled Munnabhai Ki Aatma Katha.
While talking to a daily, Vinod Chopra confirms the news by saying, “Sanjay and Arshad are returning to play Munna and Circuit. We are developing the script right now, and the film should start in 2012.”
Surprisingly there were rumours that Aamir Khan is going to replace Sanjay Dutt as Munnabhai, but all that turned out to be hogwash. It’s only Sanju baba who can play Munnabhai and he will as well. In fact, Vidhu Vinod Chopra was offered a huge amount of money by a Hollywood studio to part with the super successful Munnabhai franchise, but Vidhu was adamant on not letting it go.
