Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra seems to be eyeing the Oscars this time. He is leaving no stone unturned for his ambitious Hollywood project `Broken Horses`. After roping in the Academy Award winner Barrie Osborne as the executive producer, the director has reportedly signed Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage for the film.
“Vidhu is currently in Los Angeles, working on for ‘Broken Horses’. Cage has been confirmed for one of the leading roles just a few days ago,” the Daily Express quoted a source as saying.
The actor won`t need to pick up any new languages for the role – or even travel very far – Chopra recently revealed his latest project will be shot in the US and in English.
“In September, I will start shooting Broken Horses in the US. It will be an English film and will be for the world audience. I have done Hindi films, now I am doing English and after this I may do a Hindi film again,” Chopra said.
A huge set is being put up in a desert town bordering Mexico and the US. `Broken Horses` will have a western cast and crew and will start shooting from September 13.
Besides Osborne, Hollywood veteran Fred Roos has also been brought on board as executive producer to put the project and cast together.

And here people; have a look at ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ director Abbas Tyrewala’s next ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’. With this one can see B-town’s hunk John Abraham in a totally, brand new avatar – as a nerd. Starring opposite to him is Pakhi, who in fact is director’s wife and has also done the script of the film. Supporting them are Raghu Ram, Manasi Scott and Anaitha Nair.
‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ is produced by Madhu Mantena, under the banner Saregama-HMV. The music is composed by music maestro AR. Rahaman. Interestingly, R. Madhavan is said to feature here in a cameo role.
The film deals with telephonic relationship between strangers Sid (John) and Mishka (Pakhi). Now being a nerdy, a simpleton Sid tries to woo his phone pal by telling lies, which his friends find it quite amusing.
‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ was initially titled 1-800 Love and later Call Me Dil. However the makers changed it to ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ when they found the former titles don’t relate to the film.
The first look of ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ was unveiled recently by the film’s cast and crew at Gulmohar Road, Juhu. It had been a risky promotion where John had jumped from the a 30 feet billboard to uncover the film’s poster.
‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ will hit the screens on 15th October.
